With the 160-gram Equipe RSR Bib Shorts S9, Assos started from scratch and re-engineered the platform as a whole—and came away with the lightest, most comfortable race-spec bib shorts to ever leave their laboratory. These bibs are made with Type 701kompressor material that delivers the perfect combination of compressive hold, durability, soft hand-feel, and the lowest weight possible. In other words, the material becomes your second skin, delivering phenomenal structural hold, breathability, and a silky smooth, uninterrupted wrap along the low back and thighs. Assos' new bracing system works together to stabilize the shorts and secure the insert in place. The S9 generation incorporates just two panels, with a primary “butterfly” panel fully wrapping the legs and converging in the rear to form the ergoBox structure. This design effectively frames the insert in place and provides you with an ultra-comfortable wrap that works in conjunction with Type 701 material for the best fit ever produced. The bib straps have also been redesigned using calibrated stretch throughout, with the rear section using a single section of elastic material—folded over on itself—forming an A-frame in the back. It delivers limited vertical stretch in order to add further stability. In the front, the straps are made of a more flexible material, with an antibacterial carbon weave, to lay flat and wick moisture. Assos also focused on a single insert platform, which allowed the freedom to reassess what is most crucial to a streamlined, race-spec insert. They reduced the overall footprint to shed additional weight, employed superAir microShock foam with 3D waffle, incorporated the kraterCooler system to increase airflow up front, and took additional measures to anchor the insert at the rear with a patented horizontal stabilizer. The result? Total ASSOS comfort you’ve come to know and trust, stabilized more than ever.

Racing eyewear developed with a single wraparound lens that enhances visibility in aggressive road and off-road racing positions. Why we made it Skharab marks the introduction of a new category in ASSOS Eye Protection, tuned specifically for road and off-road racing. It pulls various design cues from our Zegho eyewear, such as its signature rimless profile, fully adjustable nosepiece, and featherlight feel, yet it's bred more for speed, protection, and visual clarity in changing terrain and shifting light conditions.
Born from WorldTour testing and feedback, the Alleycat is engineered primarily for racing and training missions in nasty weather, where variable light conditions, fast descents, and drastic shifts in temperature are a given. BEHIND THE PRODUCT Extreme conditions call for radical departures from tradition, so we tore up the rules for rain jackets and reassembled the parts in a hybrid design that addresses the needs of specific body locations in the mercurial weather of spring racing, fall maintenance, and winter training. The reflective, breathable upper panel repels water and wind and flashes reflectivity to keep you seen on overcast days. The lighter lower panels promote breathability to regulate temperatures when you’re in Zone 3 and up, and the sleeves, collar, and side panels boost stretch to preserve the signature ASSOS fit.
Mountain bikers need clothing solutions too, so we set about extending our premium, mountain bike-specific OFFROAD collection. Our apparel engineering team were tasked with the challenge of creating a breathable yet durable short that has signature ASSOS performance yet doesn’t break the bank. The result of their hard work is these XC-specific bib shorts, for which we just can’t find enough superlatives. Employing the ripstop, high abrasion resistant and breathable dyneRope fabric (which is stronger than steel), these shorts have been put through their paces by the BMC MTB Racing Team’s best riders. And with such stringent world class testers giving their approval, it’s clear that the pedigree of these shorts has already been confirmed. The result is a tough, lightweight and highly breathable pair of shorts that are perfect for the toughest XC trails. According to the team, the dyneRope on the outside of the legs wicks sweat like no other, delivering a seriously world-class performance that saw the riders sweep the team standings at the 2017 UCI MTB World Cup series. But no matter how hard you’re pushing while riding off-road, there’s always a need for superior ASSOS comfort in the saddle so we’ve opted for our opulent MTB-specific insert. Placed a little further forward than its road counterpart, it is tuned for the steepest climbs and sickest flow trails with memory foam. From the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup to your home trails, it’s time to hit the dirt.

A lightly insulated knicker engineered for cool conditions and long-distance comfort, featuring extended knee coverage and stormproof textiles. BEHIND THE PRODUCT Ideal for those cool fall and spring rides where added knee coverage and a touch of insulation make all the difference, we crafted the Spring Fall Knickers to meet the demands of these variable conditions. The fit lines up with our regularFit design, which means they’re lightly compressive where they need to be without being as tight as our racingFit design. To underscore that aspect, we’ve pre-shaped and sewn the fabric panels to fully wrap and support the upper leg muscles, knees, and calves while in motion.

The UMA GT Women’s Half Shorts set a new standard in on-the-bike comfort and female-specific design. The UMA GT Women’s Half Shorts blend several proven textiles and construction techniques to create a truly unique pair of shorts that are as fast as they are comfortable. Like our high-end Laalalai Shorts, they’re cut from Type.439 Diadema, a fabric chosen for its exceptional stretch, high-wicking, and compressive capabilities. Wind-tunnel tested and using our aerodynamic Fenomeno1 design, these are our some of our fastest women’s cycling shorts yet. The precise fit comes down to the waistband design, where we applied our breathable, ultrasoft Aerofit material at the front, using a fold-over construction that comfortably holds the shorts in place across the abdominals. We did the same at the lower legs, adding a secure, stay-put fit with an asymmetrical hold on the thighs. Compared to our Laalalai shorts, these are 2.5cm shorter in length. And in terms of the insert, we’ve sewn in the lightweight, breathable S7 EVO to deliver targeted support and all-day comfort.

The GT Winter Booties use the same membrane-backed NEOS material as our winterproof jackets, keeping your feet and ankles fully protected in cold winter conditions. For the past several seasons, we’ve been testing our jacket-proven NEOS softshells as worthy bootie textiles, knowing their waterproof, flexible, and breathable properties would also be favorable in a complementing overshoe. NEOS Medium is the primary textile used, as its 3L softshell with PU bonded membrane breathes, blocks wind and water, and adds big doses of insulation to your feet and ankles. The booties feature a reverse camlock zipper, while our zeroCuff creates the smoothest transition possible between your legs and the fabric, furthering the aerodynamic profile.
An ultralight summer base layer featuring a seamless design and carbon yarns to keep your core cool, dry, and comfortable in balmy conditions. We're constantly refining the first-layer platform in the name of greater moisture management and overall comfort. Such is the case with the new Skin Layer family, taking the baton from our Skinfoils with much lighter designs, refined constructions, and better-performing fiber blends. We've lowered the SS Skin Layer's weight by roughly 25% compared to its Skinfoil predecessor and used a tubular knit technology that's free of irritating side seams. A new blend of carbon and polypropylene yarns have been strategically arranged to manage moisture much better than previous iterations, resulting in a breathable, antibacterial short-sleeved first layer that keeps you cool and dry from the base up. The Circular Seamless construction introduces a tubular knit that's free of side seams, creating an ultrasoft, comfortable feel against the body. The sleeves are sewn directly into the armhole to promote a full range of motion beneath additional layers.
The staple for riding in the transitional seasons, provides mid-level insulation and light padding without erasing bar feel. In the age of smart trainers and social training simulators, many of us spend winters training indoors. The Spring Fall Gloves are a bellwether for that approach, maintaining warmth and dry, breathable comfort in cool-to-cold conditions and, when conditions exceed their insulating capacity, letting us know when it's time to retire to the pain cave for winter. The brushed Lycra material is the same as the insulating liner in our Ultraz gloves. It's appropriate for both applications because of its lightly insulating and moisture-wicking properties. Pull tabs make for easy on/off, despite a sleek, anatomically precise cut that eliminates bunching. An extended cuff reduces gaps between glove and sleeve.
One of the least complicated, yet most flexible pieces in the Assos wardrobe, the reworked Knee Warmer is a must-have piece of cycling kit. Based on feedback from BMC's top riders, these Knee Warmers are now 7cm longer than the previous model to give added protection and comfort. Fulfilling requisite Assos standards, these cycling essentials utilize the same performance-driven textiles found in their winter riding jackets, making these warmers indispensable items.
